I have found myself saying many versions of "these past 12-months have flown by" and "I am not even sure I know what happened this year" for a few weeks now. Perhaps some of you can relate? :)
Coming out of the past two-years' weirdness and, for some of us, stress and sadness made 2022 a year of activity and connection for many and South Hound was no exception. I thought it worthwhile to take a moment, to take a breath and reflect on the year passed, making sure to acknowledge some of the very cool things we were able to do with y'all.

We grew our wonderful community of adventure-loving hounds and humans!
|
|
#The_SH_Pack went national in 2022 - with adventure packs hitting trails around Cape Town, Gauteng and even, as of November, down the Garden Route.
With all of y'all, we got to explore the trails in Cape Town's deep south on a misty March morning and play on the Sterkfontein trails on a warm autumn day (some of you may have seen the feature in WeLovePets). We bagged peaks where the hawks and vultures soar and got to venture down paths that led us through ancient forests. What an incredible place we live in, eh?
A huge thank you to the amazing SH Pack Leaders who volunteer their time to prep and lead our adventures. This inspiring group of women love the outdoors, love their dogs and look after us all on these adventures. We salute you @imjustcyril, @the.adventure.spots and @diary_of_summit. We launched our fold-a-bowl, -collaps-a-bowl, -stash-a-bowl South Hound Trail Bowl
|

Whether you are hitting the trails or the streets, the SH Trail Bowl is the perfect gear for hydration and snacks on the go!

We collaborated with some game-changing, proudly South-African companies.

|
We got to work with the teams behind: - Rock Rabbit Sports for an epic birthday giveaway;
- and Buddy Active Collagen for Dogs to create the perfect Summer Hydration Kit
We are now stocked in some awesome pet stores including: - Urban Tails, Palmyra, Cape Town
- Steenberg Vet, Cape Town
- The Good Boi Club, Johannesburg

We were featured in some big-dog publications!

Like Die Burger and Fair Lady! We're fancy like that!

And we got to support some of the truly awe-inspiring welfare and rescue organisations through Paws-a-while!

All in all, a pretty good year!

Not to overdo the adventure metaphor, but while South Hound has had to weather some challenging hills, the journey is always worth it for the friends, the stories and the perspective gained along the trails!
I am so humbled, energised and enthused by this little community of ours. Thank you for being part of this adventure.
We wish you, your adventure hound/s and families a restful holiday season (with some gnarly bits that bring a grin to your face and joy to your hound! :))
